No, and this is the question we hear most in summer. New Jersey’s Smoke-Free Air Act bans smoking and vaping of any kind, cannabis included, on public beaches and in public parks statewide, with fines that start at $250 for a first offense and climb to $500 and then $1,000. On top of that, Cape May has its own ordinance prohibiting public cannabis consumption in places like the beach, the Promenade, parks, playgrounds, and ball fields, along with public events such as concerts and farmers markets. Neighboring towns set their own rules, and some go further, for example Wildwood Crest’s public-use ban covers edibles, not just anything you light.

The simple version for your beach day: buy it here, enjoy it later somewhere private where you have the property owner’s okay. Our budtenders are happy to point you toward products that travel well and stay sealed until you get there.

Not in Cape May County yet. New Jersey does allow licensed dispensaries to add an on-site cannabis consumption area, the state’s version of a lounge, but it takes both a Cannabis Regulatory Commission endorsement and approval from the host town. The first of them were approved in July 2025 in places like Atlantic City, Merchantville, and Newark, and more have opened since.

“Live” means the flower was flash-frozen right after harvest instead of dried and cured, which preserves more of the terpenes that give a strain its smell and flavor. Sugar has a grainy, wet-crystal consistency, badder is whipped smooth and scoopable, and diamonds are larger crystallized THCA, often sold in a pool of terpene sauce.
